I often find myself talking to people about the problems and challenges they are facing. They feel like they have tried all the stuff, read all the books, and it is still not working. I’m not getting the results that I want. You might feel like everyone’s passing me by. {People I went to school with, people that I started a business at the same time, and it feels like they’re passing me by.
And this is the worst feeling, when you start to believe that you are running out of time to fulfill your destiny. Sometimes you might feel like there was a window of opportunity and I missed it, it has passed me by. And so these kinds of problems lead people to ask this question because maybe they haven’t yet. They might be starting to get a little bit desperate and they’re starting to consider… Should I hire a coach? Do you know how I answered that question? Yes, of course. You should hire a coach.
Go be changed my friends. Go hire a coach. Now of course I am a coach, but this is not a self-serving video because there’s a zillion coaches out there. I am going to give you four reasons why you should hire a coach (of course, there are like a million, but I will give you four!).
We all have blind spots. And they are called blind spots for a reason, you literally cannot see them without someone else. I like to use the illustration of Tiger Woods: when he would go out to practice golf he never went out by himself. He had probably three or four people watching; he had one coach watching his swing, one coach watching his stance, and another watching his follow through. And lastly, he had another coach checking his mindset to say, Hey, is your head in the right place?
Were any of those coaches better than Tiger Woods in the prime of his life? There’s few people who might have ever been better than Tiger Woods. Some people believe he’s the greatest of all time, but Tiger Woods had coaches that could see what he can’t see.
Some people get hung up on hiring a coach because they don’t think any coach is as elite as them, they don’t think a coach has done what they want to do. And you know, is there a place for connecting with people who are further than you who have done more than you? Yes, but those people can also be mentors. Whereas a coach doesn’t have to be that person that has made billions of dollars and now he’s helping you make your first million. No, a coach, the right coach, can help you see what you can’t see.
You should get a coach so that you quit getting pulled down by your blind spots. Trust me, you have them.
Have you heard of the super bowl champions that won the super bowl without a coach? Have you heard this story? NO, because there isn’t one because champions have coaches (sometimes a team of coaches)! You don’t win at the highest level, you don’t perform at the highest level unless you have got someone helping you.
You got to tell the truth and get some help. Coaches have a way of helping you become the elite performer, the peak performer, the best in your field kind of performer that you want to become, but not just performance (I don’t even like that word)… The best version of you that you desire to become, but you’re not going to get there on your own. Listen, you need some help to become the best version of you to be able to achieve the greatest things that you want to achieve. Champions have coaches!
When I first got my first coach six years ago I thought I was growing before that… I had been reading, doing leadership, leading in an organization for 20 years. And I was getting results, watching people’s lives light up, I was doing some amazing stuff. At that point, I’d let a multi-million dollar capital campaign.
And then I got in a mastermind environment and then I added a one on one coach into my life. OH MY GOODNESS!! My life began to accelerate in so many ways, I couldn’t even count them for you. It was like a ripple effect from the coaching that I began to grow in the habits and in the mindset, in my family as a father, as a husband and I grew as a business owner.
I grew as a leader; I began to have more impact and influence because of mastermind coaching and one on one coaching. It accelerated my growth. Listen, if you’re not growing, you’re dying. And so you need to grow. You have to have that growth mindset and a coach will challenge you, will push you, and will accelerate your growth. And when you grow, you will be able to manifest the destiny that God has for you.
My coach, I’ve been working with him for three or four years… and for one hour a week every week, this man is 100% dedicated to me fulfilling my destiny. He pushes me, he challenges me, he celebrates me. I had a win this week and I got on the call with my coach and I told him the win. Why did it matter so much? Because he’s 100% dedicated to my destiny being fulfilled. Finding someone that is that dedicated to you, who is here for you now, these are the coaches that are for you!
Find the right coach, some coaches just want to get their money and get their hour or 30 minute session done and get out the door. If you find the right coach who cares, who loves, who invests himself or herself in you, then you have a gift that is worth pain in any amount of money (maybe not any amount, but I’ll tell if my coach doubled his rates tomorrow, I would pay it in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t even think twice because it is that valuable to have that relationship).
Listen, if you don’t know how this is a great community to say, um, Hey, anybody got a suggestion for a coach? Um, you, you, you can find them right? People, if I’m not the right coach, listen, I’ve had conversations and I hear their needs, I hear where they’re at. And I say, you know, I don’t think I’m the right coach, but this person that I know could be the right coach for you. So find the right coach, make the investment in you. You’ve got to make the investments that are going to cost you something, but your life will never be the same.
If you have the guts, the courage, the commitment to your destiny, because people are counting on you to fulfill your destiny. Can’t you get there on your own. so hire a coach. You’ll never regret it. I hope this has been helpful. Go out there and give your greatness to the world because somebody needs what’s on the inside of you, don’t hold it back, hire a coach so you can pull it out of you and go out there and give your greatness to the world.
