I tend to do blog and videos without a certain time stamp because I want my material to be something you can get value out of all the time. I was talking with a guy the other day who enrolled in our new Transformation Coaching program and he said, Dude, I have watched 90% of your videos. And I realized as I was getting off that call, that is about 10 hours worth of content and then blogging on the same topic – I am here for you when you need a little energy or positivity boost!! Just reflecting how much I’ve shared this last year.
Which leads me to this year, 2022 and a question that I get A LOT. How do I make the next year the best one ever? We all want to do that and there is a lot of tension in that question and in our world. Uncertainty. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world: Covid, variants, economy… and so much more. And maybe that has been sucky to navigate, but what if you could make 2022 your best year ever.
Regardless of what actually happens in the world, you could make it your best year yet because YOU have the power to make the decision. You have the power to make a decision that not everyone is going to make because some people are going to allow what happened in 2020 and 2021 to determine what happens in 2022. Infact, they are loaded up with baggage from previous years and are at a disadvantage because life has not turned out the way they thought it was going to because this happened or that happened. Please do not be that person who was going to and then say covid happened. Stop that, covid is not an excuse. You’re not allowed to do that, especially if you’re going to create the life you want. If you want to create your best year ever, no more excuses and no more playing the victim. It is time for You. To. TAKE. BACK. YOUR. POWER.
I am passionate about living your best life. And so, what if there was a decision that you could make that would empower you to move into 2022 and make it your best year ever! I’ve got a decision for you. What if you made the decision to move forward? Regardless of what happens, you are not going to live in the past or move backwards? Because our past does not define us!
And if you’ve read my blog before, you have heard about the success curve and the failure curve. The failure is to blame, playing the victim, and acting powerless. And if you are hanging out with me, we don’t do that. We are going to live on the success curve. That means taking 100% responsibility for your life, extreme ownership to creating your best life. In order for us to do that, we’ve got to make a decision and say, I’m going to take responsibility and move forward. That includes problem solving along the way, creating your best life every step of the way. And there’s a Bible verse (You don’t even have to like the Bible to like this verse). Habakkuk 3:19, The Lord God is my strength, my invincible army. He has made my feet steady and sure like hinds’ feet and makes me walk forward with spiritual confidence on my high places of challenge and responsibility. Hinds’ feet belong to those goats that climb mountains, the edges of mountains and it looks nearly impossible! That’s what it is talking about.
Move forward with strength and courage. I know not everyone has the same worldview as I do, but I love Jesus a whole lot. And God, Jesus is my savior. When you know your source, it changes everything. And I serve him like he is everything to me. And He is my source. Success isn’t my source. Money isn’t my source. You are not my source… I love you but you are not my source. You’re amazing but you are not my source. I don’t have to please you, I just have to please Him and I can serve you and add value to your life. BUT because I know my source, I don’t have to depend on the world with its uncertainty… and that means I can move forward with strength and confidence and courage. I don’t know, maybe if you tapped a little bit more of that spiritual connection and realized that you don’t have to do it all, don’t have to perform to be loved… that you are a child of God and God loves you just the way you are. Not the way you think you have to be, not the way anyone else to you that you need to be… But HE loves you just as you are. And there is power in knowing that I am loved just the way I am and knowing that He’s my source. And so I get to move forward with strength and with confidence.
But how do I move forward? Not just with strength and confidence, but I move forward steady and sure like the hine’s feet and it is because I have spiritual confidence. I just got a better understanding of this illustration of a recent trip to Colorado. We were driving up Pikes Peak and we see these animals
climbing some of the steepest parts, like they were living on the edge. And I tell you, it was nuts. They’re climbing this mountain at great speed without slowing down. And that is the idea that even when it looks like you shouldn’t be able to be steady and sure… when you know your source, you’re moving into spiritual confidence. And you can be steady and sure. I know everybody doesn’t have the same beliefs as I do, but Christians, you ought to be listening to this! Your happiness, your fulfillment, your success does not depend on the economy, your business, or other people in 2022. It depends on Him and He makes you steady and sure.
Now here’s the last part of that verse. I get so excited about it because it says that you’re going to move on to your high places of challenge and responsibility. So you’re going to go through challenges and things that are in high places of responsibility. That’s some Truth you can lock into and the fact is that you were made for this. You were made to overcome challenges, you were made to carry heavy responsibility. You were made with a destiny and a purpose in your life.
You were made to go through the hard times so that you can help other people get through the hard times that you got through, you weren’t made for ease and comfort. You weren’t made so that you could know all the answers all the time. Faith without works is dead. You need to walk in a little bit of faith, not just walk by sight. And guess what, you were made for this challenge and responsibility… and it is going to come, when it does you can say I GOT THIS. Because you know your source, you are steady and sure, and have spiritual confidence. And when you realize that you were made for this and you’ve got higher power on this inside of you, this is going to be the best year of your life.
YOU. ARE. GOING. TO. MOVE. FORWARD.
And that’s the decision to move forward regardless of what happens in this world, there is no retreat. And if you’re like me, there were those movements in 2020 and 2021 where I was thinking I just don’t know and I didn’t quit. And you didn’t quit, you’re still standing now which is more proof that you were made for this movement. So set your sight forward, not behind you!
I have a spiritual mentor, a friend of mine, that was so determined not to go backwards in his life that he made a rule for himself that he would never put his car in reverse. He literally had his garage built with a door on two sides because when he pulled in, he wasn’t going to put his car in reverse. If someone parked so he couldn’t go forward, he would have someone else back up his car because he refused to go in reverse. What if you had that kind of mentality… I’m not going back because the only place I am going FORWARD.
We can be certain that challenges will come but we were made for this and people are going to be changed because we refuse to go back. Go out there and give your greatness to the world because there is greatness on the inside of you. Go out there and give it away. Don’t hold back because 2022 is going to be your best year yet!
